problems about laser annealing

in the paper, Numerical Simulation of Si Nanosecond Laser Annealing by COMSOL Multiphysics, why the size of figure 2 can be much smaller than figure 1? in my own experiments, if i increase the length of the rectangular and keep the energy density constant, the temperature will go down obviously, so i am confused shall i have to keep the size of the rectangular be the same with the real size? this is very important for my experiments, i am so thankful for your help!
