COMSOL-lost contact problem-step study problem?

I'm trying to make a deep drawing model that contemplates a force on the blankholder and a sliding of the sheet under the same blankholder (a bit different from the 'die forming' model in the Comsol libraries). I am experiencing a problem as depicted when the blank loses contact with blankholder(present as contact pair in 'Definitions' and as contact with friction in 'Phisics'(Solid Mechanics')). In order to get around the problem I have thought to decompose the simulation in two parts while the punch is lowered of 40 mm with a predescribed displacement:1) blank in contact with blankholder 2) blank not in contact with blankholder (for the remaining punch-predescribed displacement) in which case it would be convenient to use a STEP STUDY or DIFFERENT STUDY?!
