Electric spark simulation

Hello all

Any one can suggest how can i do electric spark/arc simulation ?

There may be a couple ways to do this. One would be just plotting field strength levels in electrostatics module. Same with ACDC. By knowing field strength levels you could infer at about what point arcing would occur. You are not simulating the arc itself. If you are wanting to do this so that you see the physical arc during breakdown, then that is more of a plasma/multitphysics problem. it is not an easy setup at all. There might be related examples on in the gallery or maybe the comsol blog but I don't know offhand.

Hi Jay, the Plasma Module includes an "Electrical Breakdown Detection" interface that predicts where electrical discharge may occur, including streamer discharge.

As Dennis pointed out above, approaches like this one can be used to predict whether there will be any breakdown, but actually modeling the breakdown process in detail is much more difficult.
