Electric Response of Piezoelectric element

Hello, I am interested in simulating a piezoelectric element in 2D (for now). I want to apply a sinusoidal voltage to the element to genereate a vibration at a specific frequency. At the same time I am interested in simulating the Current over time to compare the result with the actual current that passes through the piezo. What is the best way to measure the current? how do I implement it in my model?
