Peeling Force Results

Hi Comsol Community

I am working on peeling test simulation using cohesive zone model. I was dealing with convergence issues due to the mesh and penalty stiffness. I got the energy release rate from my experiment, Normal Tensile Strength,Shear Strength(0.67*Normal Tensile Strength). I am using a prescribed displacement in one of the top edges of the peel arm and a fixed constraints at the bottom layer. An interface of 70 mm. However, I tried to use the Total reaction force variable (solid.RFtotalz ), and the results doesn't make sense because the maximum force is too low.I changed my initial parameters, and the reaction force keeps oscillating(still small values less that 1 N). am I making a mistake setting up my parameters??(attached file 3 )

The last option, which gave me similar resutls to the experimental, was using Total contact froce(solid.T_totz) . Using this tool, I could get the following result(attached file 1) . I used the Z direction because I am using a 3D geometry(attached file 2 )

My concern is whether i can use the Total contact force as result for my peeling test. The Tensile machine gave me the Force & dispalcement curve, and I was trying to get a similar curve using differnet predifined variables in COMSOL.

Any comments would be highly appreciated.
