How to create new mesh in comsol based on imported mesh from other software?

Hello! Now I have imported 3D volume mesh(Nastran format) from other software in comsol. I want to draw a air cavity surrounding the former volume mesh, and to draw air mesh grid (included outside PML) based on the imported mesh.

Now the problem is, when I imported the mesh, I cannot add geometry in the same comp(if do so, it will delete imported mesh). I also try to build a air geometry in other comp and mesh it on the shell, then imported back, but in mesh part I cannot build a field between air shell and solid mesh, it means I cannot create mesh between them either.

It troubles me for a time. So, if I want to draw air mesh based on other imported 3D volume solid mesh, to achieve calculating acoustic-solid coupling result. What should I do?

Thank you very much!
