We learned through the blog "How to Use Dispersion Curves to Analyze Fluid-Filled Pipes" to apply Comsol's Mode analysis for evaluation of the dispersion of guided waves in plates and pipes. Is this method equivalent to SAFE (Semi analytical finite element)?
Analysis of leaky wave guides, as submersed or buried pipes, can be analysed with PML. Anyone with experience in sorting the eigenvalues coming out the the mode analysis? For example, 1. get rid of all un physical eigenvalues from the PML domain (we tried throwing away those with high amplitude in the outer part of PML, which helps but does not solve the problem) 2. automatically sort the modes
I have not been able to find the documentation of the theory for the mode analysis, anybody who can point in the direction of the best document?
