Importing from Solidworks

I hav been trying to run an analysis about the effect of a needle being put into the skin and have established the physics but the mesh of the needle imported keeps returning the result of self intersecting. I have tried a few methods of importing, including different file types (.STL, .3MF, and .PLY) and tried various methods COMSOL has put out for similar issues to this. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have attached the COMSOL file with the geometry for reference.

Thanks

Hello Brendan,

Given that your geometry originates in a CAD package, I would recommend you import it in one of the "proper" CAD formats supported by COMSOL if you have one of the CAD-related products (CAD Import Module, Design Module, or one of the LiveLink for CAD products). This approach is most likely to give you a high quality geometry that meshes easily.

Best,

Jeff

You are probably better off using STEP or Parasolid and mesh in COMSOL.
