Set initial strain of an edge to 0

My model includes an angled line segment that corresponds to a well in Darcy's Law. This well is showing strain with depth and strain due to fractures intersecting the well in the results of a statinary study and at time 0 in a time-dependent study. I need to determine the change in strain, but I would like my initial strain to be 0. Is there a way to set the initial strain along this well to 0? Thank you!
