Solution doesn't converge with long hold times of temperature

Hi, I am trying to model the diffusion of a gas from a 2D square model as the temperature is ramped up to its decomposition temperature. I have coupled the decomposition reaction kinetics and the diffusion coefficients as a function of temperature which is required for the model. However, I tried holding the ramp at some selected time before the decompositon peak of the material (polymer) but I kept on getting non-convergence issues at this condition. I don't know the approach people use to model a ramp and hold situation or maybe I am missing something somewhere. I would be glad to receive any suggestions or recommendation on how to solve this problem am experiencing.
