Simulation of passive layer (Cr2O3) growth on a substrate

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello, my name is Sebastian from Aalen University.

At the moment i am trying to simulate a simplified passive layer growth on a stainless steel.
The initial idea was to start with the physics "Reaction Engineering" and "Surface Reactions" to simulate the reactions of chromium and oxygen at the substrate-surface (Electrolyte-Electrode-Boundary-Interface).
In the second step I wanted to define the diffusion-coefficient of oxygen, which influences the reaction.
To visualise the layer growth I tried to use the "Electrodeposition / Moving Mesh" method, but it didnt work well.
Also i have some problems to merge the modules together.

Can anyone give me some hints for these problems?

I am looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks !

Sebastian
