how to use script on comsol v3.5 :(

hi folks,
I have to use an old version of comsol (v3.5) and I am not able to link the program to matlab cause I am not the amministrator :(
I only know to use comsol v4.2 and now I feel lost!!!
1. does exist a guide/tutorial to lear how deal with the script?
2. Is it possible that the v3.5a version has got a bug!? - when I define a global function or equation the model does not see that!
