How to find the Concentration gradient of Li-ions in anode material

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all;
I am very new to COMSOL. I have no idea how to tackle this.
In Li-ion battery, lithium ions are diffused into solid material ( i.e. Cylindrical wire) of anode (Li ion battery). They are progressively diffused into material until reached at the point of maximum concentration capacity of anode material.
So, at t=0 , C (concentration) = 0, and t.>0 it continues to diffuse until stops at when reaches at Cmax.
After some interval of time, the outer surface reaches at max concentration, however some part of material might be having very low concentration or no Li-ions at all.
What I need to know is that "
1- What parameters are needed , as material properties? ( I know diffusion coefficient of anode, Cmax of anode material , sizes of anode material, time to reach at Cmax point.
2- What are and how to set up the boundary conditions. How can I specify the ion flux (J) into modeling?
3- My needed output is concentration gradient along the radial direction of wire (Li ions distribution VS radial dimension)?

Please help me in this regards, Any suggestion are really appreciated
Nadeem
