Optimisation of processing parameters in laser sintering of metal/alloy powders

Hi everyone,
I am new to COMSOL Multiphysics..
Can anyone help me in simulating selective laser melting(SLM)/direct metal laser sintering(DMLS) of metal/alloy powder media in layer-by-layer fashion?
IN SLM process a high power laser beam falls on a thin layer(say 30 micron) of metal powder bed and scans according to CAD model given to the computer. This process is repeated till the CAD part is completed layer-by-layer fashion.

thank you in advance.

Hi,
I found your question via my search for SLM and am wondering if you have got this simulation done?
I'm new to COMSOL too and I'd like to do the same (simulation of SLM)
Would you please share your experience with me if possible?
Thanks

Hey, I'm currently looking at a similar scene for SLS/SLM. Were you able to model it?

Cheers
Sid

One of my friends was also finding the same problem in simulation of SLM. Then he switched to professional help at www.atlanticprecision.com/ . And the final prints look amazing.
