Comsol with Matlab - definition of vector indeces

I am getting confused about Matlab function feature embedded in Comsol.
Suppose that I define the following function in Matlab:
function y = Test(x)
for i=1:length(x)
y(i)=x(50)
end
end
I know that the length(x) = 100.
Now in Comsol I define the above function and try to plot it in 0<x<10. I expect to see a constant value as a result but a stair wise plot is appeared? Could you help me in understanding the indices used? How can I read y (at x=0.5)?
Best,
Hossein
