parameter ramped change triggered by probe

In a time dependent model I have a temperature probe, when T exceeds a defined value I want to switch the heat conductivity in a certain domain to a different value . No problem if I do it in a step, but if I want to use a ramp function , how do I do it, since I do not know in advance at what time the event will occur.
