Boundary Load Change Having No Effect.

Hi there,

I am new to COMSOL and still learning it's functionality. I am trying to apply a strain on the 4 fan edges (boundaries 13,14,18,20,29,30,43,44) of my structure and view it's resulting von Mises stress in the centre.

My problem is that no matter what value i enter as the boundary load, the resulting structure is always stretched by the same amount (20 microns) which is not correct. Any thoughts on what i am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

(As added information.... my goal is to simulate a 0.2% biaxial strain on the whole structure and view the von Mises stress profile in the centre of the structure.)

Your model is fine and responds linearly to the loading, as expected. See my post here: www.comsol.com/community/forums/general/thread/95633/#p217482

Thanks Jeff,

Is there anyway to change how the model is displayed post loading, to show a less "stretched" and more realistic structure?

Thanks again!

Yes, you can change the scaling factor to any value you choose. See screenshot attached.
