Lithium-ion batteries became the most common rechargeable batteries for consumer electronics and automotive applications thanks to their high energy densities, decent power density, relatively high cell voltages, and low weight-to-volume ratios. As the pressure grows to keep improving the performance of Li-ion batteries, the need for modeling and simulation also increases.
