comsol optimization using an external optimizer

I would like to use COMSOL with an external optimizer. I am using Windows 7 64 bit.
For that I would need to build a batch file that does the following
1. Changes variable already defined in COMSOL
2. Runs COMSOL
3. Exports results
Q: is this possible in batch mode? If the answer is yes, is there any example I could use?
