Time Dependent Optimization

Hi All,

I am working on topology optimization of electric machine, I have a question about how does time dependent optimizaiton solver work. I want to do the topology optimization within certain rotation angle, in this case I need the sensitivity analysis of the objective function. I am modeling the rotating machine by using time dependent solver, and then do the optimization under time dependent solver. I am wondering if the optimizer solves the objective function once every each time step like a 'for loop' or solves the sensitivity with respect to all rotor angles? The sensitivity can be done internally of the optimizer, but I am not sure which way does it work. I appreciate all help or comments. Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Feng
