Data slicing of curvy pipe

Hi All,

In COMSOL we can extrude a circle along a mathematically defined parametric curve --- the resulting shape is a curvy pipe (an example is a helical pipe). Suppose the flow through one such pipe is simulated, then how to take cross-sectional slices of this solution (so we can study, for example, the secondary flow normal to the main stream direction)?

If the pipe is straight, then we can just use simple planes. But for the helical pipe, the local normal direction varies from place to place. What's more, even you manually calculated a postion and its local normal and define a plane, this plane intersects the helical pipe multiple times, so you are getting data that you don't need.

So are there any built-in features that faclitate this slicing operation of parametrically defined pipes? Any suggestion is appreciated!
