"Contact Resistance" feature missing in magnetic & electric fields interface

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I need to define a contact resistance at the interface between two conductors. I am using the magnetic and electric fields interface (MEF), which is the only applicable interface for my model.

The "Contact Impedance" feature (described in the documentation under the Electric Currents interface) seems to be not supported for the MEF physics interface. This feels like something that should be a feature in MEF, but is not.

Do I have any alternatives? Is there a way I can implement a contact resistance in the magnetic and electric fields interface?

Missing in both COMSOL v6.0 & 6.1

Thanks, Brian

Hi Brian,

the transition BC may be what you need.

Solution: the "Contact Impedance" feature is indeed available in the MEF interface, but it is only available under the Magnetic Continuity condition as a subnode: https://doc.comsol.com/6.1/docserver/#!/com.comsol.help.acdc/acdc_ug_magnetic_fields.08.094.html
